About the Ride:

The Scott & White Community Cycling Club will host our Second Annual Crit by the Creek on Sunday, September 26 at the Creeks of Salado on Sulphur Wells Rd. Our club’s mission is to create a healthier community by encouraging physical activity and improved fitness through the sport of cycling. One component of this is bike racing! Join us for a fast-paced criterium near the beautiful village of Salado, Texas! Bring the kids and their bikes for a free entry Kids Showdown of 1/4 lap (0.17 miles) or 1 lap (0.7 miles) with award medals for all kids.

Seasoned Racers and Beginner Racers are encouraged to ride! A criterium is a great first race for new racers. If you have been riding for a while and are ready to test your racing legs, we hope that you will join us. One-day licenses are available for new racers. Check our event flyer for a list of events, distances, start times, and prizes.

Course Description: The Crit by the Creek is a 0.7 mile loop on smooth, new asphalt roads in the Creeks of Salado development. The course has only 2 corners that will require a significant slowing. The rest of the course has sweeping corners. However, the road is narrow and will still require those criterium skills! The course is set on a very slight grade creating a false flat going up and a very slight down coming back. The finish will be on the false flat going up. On a long straight section of the course, the road splits around 2 trees. There will be a wheels-in/wheels-out wheel pit near the start/finish.

Third Annual Waggin’ Trail Bike Ride

Date: Saturday, September 25

Event:
Third Annual Waggin’ Trail Bike Ride

Location:
Hillsboro, Texas

Routes: 6, 54, 40, 26,
and 10 mile routes

Registration: begins at 7:30pm with staggered starts beginning at 9:00am at 126 West Elm Street (Antique Village) in Hillsboro, Texas.

About the Race:

Two of Hill County’s finest community oriented organizations, Hill County Paw Pals and Hillsboro Police Department Community Outreach Programs, have joined together again to launch their third annual “Waggin’ Trail Bike Ride” on Saturday, September 25.

The planned routes of Waggin’ Trail Bike Ride offer cyclists a unique tour of Central Texas.  Hill County is 986 square miles of rural area that is joined together with miles and miles of splendid paved farm-to-market roads.  With a combined population of only 33,000, Hill County offers open spaces.  On many areas of the bike ride, one can see for miles around–the splendid beauty of open land–flowing creeks, pastures with cattle and horses grazing, farmers’ cultivated fields, and proud, rural communities.  The varied routes all explore the back roads of Hill County and go through communities that were established during the 1850’s when Hill County was created and named after Dr. George W. Hill, a settler who served as a congressman and Secretary of War for the Republic of Texas.
