Ryan is out due to him being the Race Organizer for a 5K for his church. Everyone please buy a entry to the race (You’ll get a T-Shirt) if you ride or don’t.
Time has come to vote on what kind of slogan we will put on the back of our Jerseys. Please vote send me an email in your favorite order. (1, 2, 3).
May the best Jersey win:
I know, I know…. On my left
Does this bike make my butt look fast?
Put some excitement between your legs
Should you have a outragously funny slogan you just came up with I’ll add it. Otherwise Rainer will send the final jersey design to Casey on Sunday.
I would like to thank Casey Gibbs and Ken Weitzel for putting our awards dinner together for us. The food was good and plentiful and we definitely need to do this more often. It was excellent meeting everyones wife (girlfriend) and kids. Some people already volunteered to hold the next get together at their house sometime this spring/summer.
Celia asked me about a place to view our video from last year so I just put all of them back online.
And here are the videos from previous years
Thank you to our Sponsor Chili’s for getting us Team Uniforms!!!
Remember that we picked the blue Underarmors and Rainer is busy creating the art work so Casey can get them ordered and screen printed for us.
FYI – I talked to Eddie from Bicycles Inc. and he said he would be interested to write columns for our site regarding equipment etc..
Any suggestions which race should be our first this year?
That’s all for today.
Wheelbrothers, Be Offended, Chili’s Memorial Bike Team Awards Banquet:
OK, Casey and i have been noodling on this for a few days, and it is
on, for Januay 20, next Saturday night, at the Macaroni Grill in N Ft
Worth, Western Center and I-35W. 7 pm. Brides and girlfriends are
Plan on food, wine, fellowship and perhaps a small amount of
debauchery. No “actual” awards will be awarded, save some solemn
remebrances of really stupid things we did over the past 1000 or so
miles on a bike.
Tragically casual. No bike shorts – we’ve all been off the saddle too
long, and many of you have been in the woods, armed and packing
it would be helpful if you could give me an idea of who’s a 90%-
probable show, and whether you’ll subject your spouse/significant other
to this event. or send a note directly to Casey who claims he’ll call
ahead and minimize wait time and maximize correct table size. Though
we’d love to see her and wish her well, Dieter’s wife is entitled to
the “i’m-about-to-pop” hall pass.
Dieter, can you get this on the wheelbrothers site? thanks. feel
free to forward to anyone i’ve not got on the “to” list.
ps: USAA came through – i may be up and riding again soon – on
something other than a mountain bike.
various end-of-year odds and ends…
found this interesting product in the pages of one of those give-away sports mags here in big-D. reading the testimonials is like rolling dice – you never know when it’ll happen to you. i’d send out gift cards to everyone but baby needs new shoes. i recommend we all get one. check out this site:
btw, got the mtn bike overhauled so have something to ride in the interim. i’ll be over at white rock looking for the schmuck who pinched my klein. if the weather breaks, and i don’t go to austin this afternoon, i may get in one last ride this year.
goal setting time: who’s up for the Athens sprint triathalon in March? 300m swim, 5k run, something in between on a bike. it’s mainly to practice transitions, but who doesn’t want to say they started their year by completing a tri? i did it 15 years ago, and it’s fun. i should have some wheels by then, one way or another. anyone have recent experience with Cannondales?
re: famous awards banquet – what about short-notice on Saturday, 6 January? that or the 20th? after that, i know Dieter will have a new baby, and heaven knows what the rest of us will be up to. Casey, what can we arrange?
happy new year to all.
Several people have expressed interest in posting some stuff and using this website so click on the Live Writer tab on the left to see a “How to”.
Let me know if that is simple enough for you.
Here we finally have a place on which we can write about races, give updates, links to bargains or funnies and anything else that comes into Jed’s perverted mind. Without having to send 5,000 emails and hope someone will be kind enough to respond.
