About the Ride: The Quicksilver Paluxy Pedal is fast becoming one of the top rides in Texas.  The ride starts and ends at the northern tip of the Hill Country in beautiful Glen Rose, Texas. The meandering paved route takes you through scenic views, gentle hills and challenging climbs.

Whether you are a novice or advanced rider, you will have fun with the other riders and volunteers who all help to make this ride an unforgettable annual event, and one that you don’t want to miss

All but the 29 mile ride take you to the top of “The Wall” a 3/10 of a mile stretch with a hill grade of almost 19% at its steepest. The view of miles of beautiful vistas is worth the effort.

  • 72 mile route… is our most popular ride! Provides a scenic view of three counties including an iron bridge crossing! Recommended for the experienced cyclist. Get directions and elevations.
  • 102 mile route… wonderfully hilly ride that winds through many small hamlets with names like Sweet Union and Atoy – plus a finish you’ll never forget. Should be attempted by the experienced cyclist only. Get directions and elevations.

The Lufkin Host Lions Club exists to give back to the community! Through the years we’ve given more than one million dollars to area non-profits to help them extend their reach to the areas underserved. This year we have partnered with the Beth and Horace Stubblefield Learning Center as the recipient of the net proceeds from the Pineywoods Purgatory.

The Heroes Ride

About the Ride: TX Wheels of Justice is a 501(c)3 public charity that raises money for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, to assist families of fallen officers, and to raise money for other worthy causes. The group participates in various fundrasing bicycle rides and events. The majority of the funds come from sponsors, with the remaining coming from fundraising events held year round by members. The group’s major event each year is the Police Unity Tour, held in New Jersey and ending in Washington D.C. during National Police Week. The Membership of the group is made up of peace officers and friends or family members of those officers throughout the state of Texas.

Each rest stop has Gatorade, water, bathrooms, and homemade goodies.

Riders will be escorted along the route by the MS 150 Motorcycle Crew. And Each intersection will be manned by a representative of the local police force

About the Ride: Ride like a professional! Join us for a fast 100 mile ride around San Antonio’s Loop 1604. Ride is escorted by SAPD motorcycle police. Three SAG vehicles will be on hand to provide nutrition at key points during the ride. Group will stay together as a peloton and ride at 20mph. Duration of the ride is approximately 5 hours. Also included is an event t-shirt and post ride pizza party!
SAG vehicles will be available for riders needing to rest for a few miles. Rider will be transported ahead of the peloton to reconnect. Electrolyte replacement, water, bananas and gels or bars will also be provided.eprovide.

25th Annual Outlaw Trail Cycling Tour

Route Distances: 10, 25, 40, 50, 63 and 100 mile

About the Ride: Each year, the Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department hosts the Outlaw Trail 100 bike tour featuring 10 mile, 25 mile, 40 mile, 50 mile, 63 mile, and 100 mile loop courses on county roads through historic Williamson County.

Outlaw Trail isn’t competitive; it is an opportunity to join cyclists from across Texas for a ride across Williamson County. There are 9 rest stops set up along the trail for cyclists to grab some snacks or a drink. Riders can ride at their own pace and rely on support from sag wagons and rest stops throughout their ride. The tour closes at 5 p.m. so cyclists should select a course they can finish within that time period.

10 mi, 25 mi, 40 mi, 50 mi, 63 mi (100 K), and 100 mi loop courses on county roads through historic eastern Williamson County. These challenging road courses will give you the taste of small town and rural life. Food and drink may be purchased in the towns if desired. Color copy of official map will be available to all cyclists at event and in event packet.

About the Ride: On October 8th, Trek Bicycle retailers around the United States will host the 6th annual Trek Women Breast Cancer Awareness ride. Featuring 10- and 25-mile family-friendly group rides, the event donates registration fees directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. With one in every eight women in the US getting breast cancer in her lifetime, most people have a close friend or family member affected by the disease. The goal of the Trek Women Breast Cancer Awareness Ride is not only to raise funds for breast cancer research, but unite local communities in the effort to raise awareness of the importance of breast health in a fun, supportive environment.
