About the Ride: Make the Possum Pedal your “warm up ride” for the Hotter ‘n Hell Hundred. The terrain, country and climate are very similar to Wichita Falls.

The Possum Pedal is back. After many years in hiatus, the Graham Chamber of Commerce is excited to revive the event, bringing a bike ride back to Graham.

The Possum Pedal will be held in conjunction with the Red, White & You Celebration, on July 4th. Graham’s patriotic spirit is one of many components that make it such a unique Texas town.

A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, which is an organization that helps veterans in transition. Join us after the ride for a special day of all things small-town America.

David’s Ride

Date: Saturday July 9, 2011  7 AM

Event: David Eikenburg Memorial Bike Ride – Road

Route Distances:

About the Ride: Consider making the trip to McQueeney, Texas in 2011 to honor our beloved pastor, father, husband and friend, David Eikenburg, who died tragically in a cycling accident on July 11, 2005. He died doing what he loved, but his first love and passion was to share the love of Jesus. Every year we honor him with this bike ride, remembering what he loved, and then to glorify God by continuing David’s legacy and passion for spreading the Good News to people everywhere. All proceeds go to Camp Agape, a Christian bereavement camp for children who have lost a loved one.

The date for our 6th annual ride will be held Saturday July 9, 2011. You can get involved even if you don’t cycle. We are always in need of donations and volunteers, so please let us know if you would be interested in serving God through this ministry.

Peach Pedal Bike Ride 2011

Date: SaturdayJuly 9, 2011

Event: Peach Pedal Bike Ride 2011

Route Distances (Click here for Route maps): 100K, 39 miles, 26 miles and 9 miles

About the Ride: The ride benefits two great causes: scholarships and other assistance for students through the Weatherford College Foundation, and the promotion of our wonderful community through the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce.

Bring your camera–there are some beautiful views! We’re not going to lie to you–this course has some tough hills. But the hills are interspersed with flat stretches in beautiful western Parker County. Our 100K, 39-mile and 26-mile routes include periodic rest stops with drinks, snacks and rest rooms, as well as the fun folks of Parker County.

In 2008, we moved our start/finish and registration area to a new location–Weatherford High School on Interstate 20 and Bethel Road. The participants loved this new location, so we’ll be there again this year.

Registration will take place in “The Outback,” a separate building located to the east of the main building. The 100K starts at 7:30 a.m., the 39-mile starts at 7:45, and the 26-mile and 9-mile start together at 8:00.

Tres Burritos Ride

Date: Saturday, July 16, 2011

Event: Tres Burritos Ride — Road

Route Distances:

  • Climb the hills – 42-mile ride in the Texas heat
  • Go the distance – 71 mile ride is for those who like to go the distance
  • Ride the Town – This downtown pedal is the perfect way to spend a summer morning with family and friends

About the Ride: The Tres Burritos Ride is actually three unique rides, each leaving from a different Bicycle Sport Shop location. One is hilly, one is long, and one is an easy family pedal. But all are loads of fun, raise money for a great cause, and end with cold drinks and hot burritos.

Proceeds from the Bicycle Sport Shop Tres Burritos Ride will go directly toward getting more Austin kids on bikes more often through Boltage, a program that tracks the number of times students ride their bikes to school and rewards them for their participation. In partnership with Trek and the City of Austin’s Safe Routes to School program, Bicycle Sport Shop will use the money raised from the ride to bring Boltage to at least one more Austin-area school by the end of 2012. Bicycle Sport Shop and its partners have already launched Boltage at Brentwood Elementary, Bryker Woods Elementary and Martin Middle School in Austin, and Patsy Sommer Elementary in Round Rock.

Climb the hills – If you’re looking for a hilly, 42-mile ride in the Texas heat, this is the punishment you’ve been looking for. Add speed to a cocktail of summer heat and long climbs, and you just may win the honor of getting your name on the coveted King of the Mountain trophy. We’ll celebrate your strong finish (and for coming out to raise money to get more Austin kids on bikes more often) with burritos, Real Ale and non-alcoholic drinks.

Go the Distance – This ride is for those who like to go the distance. It’s a metric century plus, with a whopping total of 71 miles. The course is relatively flat, but long, hot and all for a good cause. Turn around points will be available if you can’t stand the heat. We’ll celebrate your strong finish (and for coming out to raise money to get more Austin kids on bikes more often) with burritos, Real Ale and non-alcoholic drinks.

Ride the Town – This downtown pedal is the perfect way to spend a summer morning with family and friends and help us raise money to get more kids on bikes more often. Bring a chariot for the little ones, or pedal side-by-side to the Capitol. We’ll celebrate at the finish line with Burritos, Real Ale and non-alcoholic beverages.
