About the Ride:
CRPSO invites you to join us on our first annual Tour de Brewer on Saturday, February 29th!
This event is a student-led group ride for all current UT students, faculty, staff, alums, enthusiastic cyclists, and folks who casually bike looking for an opportunity ride around Austin with other rad folks. Tour de Brewer is designed as a “slow-roll” group ride, meaning it is intended for riders of all skills, and we will prioritize riding together over speed. With experienced ride leaders and a large group, we hope you will feel comfortable and consider joining us.
We ask that everyone check-in by 1:30pm at the School of Architecture to sign-in, a brief and group photo to commemorate the event. The Tour will roll out at 2pm at a leisurely pace to our first stop, Austin Beer Garden Brewing (ABGB) around 2:45pm, followed by Lazarus Brewing Company around 4:15pm, and finally circle back to Scholz Beer Garten close to 5:20pm. Each stop will be approximately 45 minutes, enough time to enjoy a beverage or snack.
While we hope you will join us for the full ride, though we invite people to join us when and where they can. A detailed Tour de Brewer schedule can be found on the Eventbrite page and we will post updates on our progress the day of the ride. Join us for one or all locations!
Tour de Brewer is a fundraising event for the Community and Regional Planning Student Organization (CRPSO) and we humbly ask for a $10 donation to participate. All funds raised for the ride will help students attend the APA Conference, CRP Bootcamp, and future CRPSO endeavors. Payment will be accepted in cash or through Venmo on the day of the event. Other important details about the ride:
Everyone must wear a helmet if they wish to participate in the Tour de Brewer.
If you don’t have a bike or helmet, please let us know through our Eventbrite page and we will try to help you find one.
Participants will be able to register the day of the event, though we encourage you to register early so we can provide enough ride leaders.
Designated ride leaders will be there to guide and support participants along the way and in case there are any flat tires.
While named Tour de Brewer, the breweries were chosen specifically for their assortment of food and beverage options. Beer consumption is certainly not required to participate.
Everyone is welcome to join the ride and we hope you will be there and bring a friend!
