Bike Around the Bay
Date: October 12-13, 2013
Event: Bike Around the Bay
Route Distances: 2-day, 180-mile bicycle ride
About the Ride: Bike Around the Bay is a fully supported two-day bicycle ride around Galveston Bay that showcases the natural beauty of Galveston Bay and benefits the Galveston Bay Foundation. We have added mileage so the ride will be 180 miles this year and will truly be Bike AROUND the Bay! The ride starts at Barbers Hill ISD in Mont Belvieu, Texas and continues along a scenic route that includes many fascinating sights and highlights. Riders will spend the night in Galveston where they will enjoy an informal dinner with other cyclists and friends and family. Day 2 will bring the riders north along the west side of Galveston Bay where they will ultimately finish at Barbers Hill ISD in Mont Belvieu, Texas.
Bike Around the Bay sponsored by Shell was yet again a huge success thanks to 960+ registered riders who supported the Galveston Bay Foundation! We hope you enjoyed seeing the natural beauty of our Galveston Bay environments and being the first of Bike Around the Bay cyclists to fully circumnavigate the bay! We’d like to especially thank all of our hardworking volunteers for making this year’s ride the best yet. We look forward to seeing you again next year for Bike Around the Bay 2013!
