About the Ride: This popular event is the perfect opportunity to get some exercise, enjoy the scenery of Fort Bend County, prepare for the MS150 or just spend some quality time having fun with your family, friends and neighbors. Bike riders return year after to year to enjoy this event, which includes scenic 20, 35 or 63 mile routes in Fort Bend County. We supply breakfast, snacks, lunch, ride marshals for safety, ample signage to help along the route and a cheering section to greet riders at the finish line!
What is the Literacy Council?
The Literacy Council of Fort Bend County is a non-profit organization established to end inter-generational cycles of illiteracy in Fort Bend County by improving adult literacy skills and generate community-wide literacy awareness. Programs include: Basic Literacy and English as a Second Language classes, GED preparation classes, Badges and Books, Job Readiness and the Literacy Hotline.

BP MS 150 Houston to Austin

Route Distances: The ride is a two day, 180-mile journey for MS from Houston to Austin
About the Ride:The BP MS 150 is a two-day fundraising cycling ride organized by the National MS Society: Lone Star. This ride is the largest event of its kind in North America.
The ride is a two day, 180-mile journey for MS from Houston to Austin. Breakpoints are positioned every 8-15 miles.
Day One
Day One of the ride begins Saturday morning at three convenient starting points: Tully Stadium in Houston, TX, Rhodes Stadium in Katy, TX and Waller Stadium in Waller, TX. Riders follow scenic roads into Bellville for lunch. Day One ends at The Official Overnight: The Fayette County Fairgrounds in La Grange, TX.
Day Two
Day Two of the ride begins at the Fayette County Fairgrounds, on Sunday morning with Club 300 members leading the mass. Riders will still have two route options from the Fayette County Fairgrounds: the Bechtel Challenge Route and the Pfizer Lunch Express.
The Bechtel Challenge Route will continue down FM 153 and riders may enter the Buescher State Park and continue eventually travelling through Bastrop State Park where they will exit onto Loop 150 in Bastrop, Tx. Riders may “By-Pass” the Texas state parks by continuing on FM153 and eventually merging onto Hwy. 71.
The Pfizer Lunch Express Route will take riders onto Hwy 71, westbound, eventually merging onto Loop 150 in Bastrop, Texas. Cyclists travelling on the Pfizer Lunch Express are not allowed to exit on FM153 and travel through these two Texas state parks.
Both routes lead to Bastrop Intermediate School for lunch.
The final leg of Day Two takes riders into Austin for exciting festivities at the finish line, located at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and next to the Texas State Capitol.

About the Ride: Cyclists of all ages are invited to participate in the Second Annual Comanche Cross Bike Race at McKinney Park, 625 West Pool Road.
The West Texas CX Series, set for Saturday, January 18, is a friendly competition trekking through the Comanche Draw.
Kids, beginners and the advanced cyclist can compete in separate races that will begin 1p.m. Registration begins at noon.
