Head for the Hills

Date: May 11, 2013

Event: Head for the Hills

Route Distances20 miles, 40 miles and 60 miles

About the Ride: The Head for the Hills bike rally allows the Rotary Club of Cedar Hill to maintain our youth programs and make direct donations to the Cedar Hill Food Pantry, City library, CHISD Education Foundation, Bridges Safehouse and Hope Mansion to help abused women make a new start, plus sponsor summer day camp scholarships, and respond to other immediate needs in the community. Our club’s charitable activity also includes the Rotary International Polio Plus program, and donations to the Wheelchair Foundation. We were able to respond to the earthquake in Haiti by funding three “Shelter Boxes” that house 30 people and are organizing a ‘Pure Air’ project for Mexico to replace indoor open fires with fuel efficient stone ovens.  All our charitable efforts are funded by this one event, which the club plans for 10 months out of every year.
