Event: Red River Riot

Location: Red River Valley, TX – Click here for map to staging area

Route Distances: 60 and 120 Miles

About the Ride: The 2011 Red River Riot will be a grass roots ride this time around with the focus being the best and most challenging route possible. This is not an official “event” so don’t look for prizes, sag support, portapots or schwag.

We’re going to give you a great route to follow that will cover at least 100 miles of dirt roads in North Texas. We’ll coordinate a meet up spot and time and provide directions for everyone to find their way from Point A to Point Z. There is no entry fee but donations will be accepted to cover the overhead for signage/maps/etc.
The long route will be around 120 miles
The short route will be around 60 miles
We may offer a mini route of around 30 miles if there is any interest
Land access fees will be collected at the gate unless you need a bed and we’ll set up some sort of prepay arrangement:
  • $5 per head to park/land access
  • $10 per head to camp
  • $20 per head for a bed (limited)
  • $25 for a camper/rv includes parking

Prices cover the whole weekend but no half price if you only stay one night. Email if you want a bed those will have to be prepaid and organized. The routes will be greatness.

Kids are free

There is still no entry fee but we do have to pay “rent” for land access so everyone can gather in one spot. You can stay the night before the ride or spend the night after you are done riding or both. We will collect camping and parking fees at the gate but will have to make prepaid arrangements of some sort if you want a bed. Please touch base if you have any questions.

Ride the Rock

Date: April 22, 2011 – 9 AM

Event: Ride the Rock – Road

Location: White Rock Lake Park 440 East Lawther Drive – Dallas, TX

Route Distances: Ride one lap, 5 laps or all 7 hours! Click here for a simple route map

White Rock Lake is celebrating their centennial this year and local cycling enthusiasts Dan Patterson and Stuart Crow decided that was reason enough to sponsor a bike ride at the lake. With their support, we will be able to donate 100% of the registration fees and donations to the White Rock Lake Centennial.

Ride The Rock, scheduled for Friday, April 22, 2011, will begin at 9am and last until 4pm. While Dan and Stuart plan to ride 100 miles, participants can ride as much or as little as they like. The idea is to just spend a day hanging out at White Rock Lake, enjoying the weather, location and enjoying a little cycling. Here is a message from Stuart Crow:

” I have been riding bikes for decades all over the country. I have never come across another urban park with a 9 mile nonstop lap for cyclists. Central Park–probably the second best place to ride in an urban environment–has only 6 miles. White Rock Lake is a true marvel for cyclists. Please join me in supporting our lake and ensuring that cycling remains a central part of it’s purpose.”

Let’s get the word out to all our friends and family members so that we can show how much the local cycling community appreciates and supports White Rock Lake.

Our route will be a combination of streets and the White Rock Lake Trail (between Winfrey Point and Garland Road).
