Ryder Ride To Feed Tarrant County

Date: Saturday, April 28, 2012

Event: Ryder Ride To Feed Tarrant County 2012

Route Distances: 6, 26 and 39 miles

About the Ride: This unique family – friendly cycling event is designed for the athlete, family members, and friends to join together and help fight hunger in our community. This bike tour will consist of 3 routes (39 mile, 26 mile, and 6 mile family ride) fully supported with rest stops, support and gear (SAG) vehicles, on-site medical services, public safety officials, food, and entertainment.

This event empowers us all to help raise awareness and make a difference. Food insecurity is the inability to consistently access adequate amounts of nutritious foods necessary for a healthy life. Any degree of food insecurity can lead to malnutrition and chronic hunger, which can threaten a person’s life. In North Texas, the food insecure are currently our neighbors, friends, and coworkers and together we can help!

There are many food drives during the holidays, but there are hungry families’ year- round. This spring timing is perfect to help fill the pantries again. Spring is also a great training time for cyclist; it seems like the perfect combination of active fun for a good cause.

Thank you so much for considering this opportunity to join us in providing food for our children who are the most at risk. Children may be only 25% of our population but they are 100% of our future.
