Central Texas Tour de Cure

Date: Saturday, May 5, 2012

Event: Central Texas Tour de Cure

Route Distances: 15, 30, 50, 80 or 100 Miles

About the Ride: The 2012 Austin Central Texas Tour de Cure has five loops, beginning at the Travis County Exposition Center and looping north to beyond Weir Texas.

The longest route is 103 miles and goes through Manor, Hutto, Johah, Weir and Coupland. This will be a great tour of the famed Texas Blackland Prairie ecosystem. Home to many of the native grasses this area supported bison herds and became a major farming center before the end of the 18th century. This route takes the riders close to Granger Lake where two families of Whooping Cranes have recently been sighted.

This Tour will be Austin’s (and surrounding counties) first and will provide a flavor that Austin is known for! Join us for a family focused event that will incorporate Live Music, BBQ, Kids Zone and a little something extra.

Be one of more than 50,000 riders nationwide committed to helping us Stop Diabetes! From coast to coast, in over 43 states, the Tour de Cure is changing the future of diabetes!
