About the Ride:

Arbor Day Celebration Set For Saturday, March 7, 2020!

START YOUR TRAINING for 2020! Walk, Run, and Ride with us as we celebrate Arbor Day in our City and our region!

The Arbor Day Celebration Committee is planning for the 2020 event which promises to once again offer a closed course for all runners and SAG vehicles and law enforcement support for our cyclists. Arbor Day will bring you an exciting family-friendly event that will play an important role in “planting” the future for trees in our city.

On March 7, 2020,  Keep McAllen Beautiful will hold the 9th annual Arbor Day Celebration. The Arbor Day Celebration, is an event where you can run a timed 5K or 10K, do a 25 mile or 100K bike tour or a Kids 1 Mile Run.  The running course is a completely closed course blocked to all vehicular traffic so this makes it especially a fun run for both young and old! Plus it is stroller and pet friendly- just make sure your doggy is on a leash.  These events all start at McAllen Municipal Park.  The 25 mile and100K bike tour will feature an escort and SAG vehicle. This year will once again feature healthful vendors and even more fun activities for the kids, that includes a tree workshop on how to properly plan and maintain a healthy tree and a fun crafts area for the kids to plant their very own tree seeds!!  We invite you to come out and participate with the rest of your community!  Get active, celebrate trees, and enjoy the beautiful RGV spring weather!

Arbor Day is a day when we celebrate nature’s gift of trees, the tall providers of shade, fruit, fun, and a habitat for many different kinds of wildlife. This Arbor Day, come out and make a difference by helping us continue to establish a dedicated tree-planting fund with the money raised at this event, and by planting some trees yourself! Together, we are making our city greener, cooler, and more beautiful. So if you missed it in 2019, make plans to join us on March 7, 2020!

Thank you for making it possible!
